Calling all Teton County, Idaho residents! We encourage you to voice your opinion to the Teton County Board of County Commissioners about the revision of the County’s Natural Resource Overlay. The County Commissioners will be conducting a public hearing on September 20, 2024 at 2:30pm. You can attend the hearing in person or virtually through Zoom. Written comments are due to pz@tetoncountyidaho.gov by 5pm on Friday, September 13, 2024.

The recommended revisions to the 2006 Natural Resource Overlay utilize the newest and most credible wildlife data. In addition, an associated Wildlife Habitat Analysis Policy is being recommended to create standardization and enhance quality and objectivity of habitat analyses. Information relevant to the public hearing can be found at the following link, listed under “Natural Resource Overlay (NRO) Revision”: https://www.tetoncountyidaho.gov/departments/planning_zoning_department/pending_subdivisions.php

Want to put your artistic talent to work protecting wildlife habitat in Teton Valley? Teton Regional Land Trust is excited to provide this creative, community art project again at this year’s Crane Festival. Life-size wooden crane sculptures are available for artists and community members to design. The completed sculptures will be auctioned off at the Greater Yellowstone Crane Festival on Saturday, September 21 at the Driggs City Center. Proceeds from the auction will help support crane habitat conservation in Teton Valley. These unique cranes are meant to be displayed outdoors, so make sure to use materials that can withstand the outdoor environment. Sculptures were generously created and donated by Carla Gust Nordlinder, Katie Green, and Rebecca Shank.
